Shane Reiswig

Shane Reiswig’s fascination with the ocean and all things aquatic is brought to life in his paintings and illustrations. With beauty and intensity his colors & textures bring about an atmosphere and richness of feeling that communicates his passion and emotion for the ocean and the life that it embraces.
Shane’s journey began in Juneau Alaska where he was raised and then became a commercial fisherman for much of his life. His love for the water brought many sailing trips up and down the Inside Passage from Juneau to Seattle. He currently holds a Coast Guard Masters License and is an avid sailor. Shane’s journey into the arts began at a young age and continued into college, at the Art Institute of Seattle and then on to The Art Center College of Design in Pasadena to receive his BFA, where his love for landscapes and fish became his drive and focus in his painting. His works have also included portraits such as a portrait for the Lt. Governor of Alaska and painted maps driven once again for his love of the ocean and surrounding land.
His current works bringing him in to the future include a series of paintings for a Northwest chain of seafood restaurants and two new prints beginning a new series on boats. His clients include The Tacoma Art Museum, Columbia Sportswear, The Wall Street Journal, America West Airlines, UPS, Ocean Realm Magazine, Fly Rod and Reel Magazine, Sail Magazine, Red Lobster Restaurants, McGraw Hill and many more.
